Classic Car Interior Restoration Workshop

The "Classic Car Interior Restoration Workshop" is a prestigious two-day hands-on event dedicated to the preservation of automotive history. Hosted by Tt Trims, this workshop focuses on the "Art of the Interior," teaching participants the delicate balance between preservation and replacement. Classic cars are more than just transport; they are time capsules, and their interiors often require a level of patience and skill that modern mass-production techniques cannot replicate.

Over the course of two days, attendees will be immersed in the world of traditional trimming. Day one focuses on the "Foundations," where we strip down a vintage seat to its springs and frame. Anthony Ward will guide the group through the process of repairing internal wire frames, replacing perished foam with period-correct materials, and understanding the "tensioning" required to give a seat its original 1960s or 70s silhouette.

Day two shifts the focus to the "Aesthetic Finish." Participants will learn the techniques of diamond quilting, piping, and door card restoration. A major focus of this workshop is "Leather Connollising"—the process of restoring the color and finish of original leather without replacing it, which is vital for maintaining the "patina" value of high-end classic cars. We will also cover the installation of headliners, a notoriously difficult task for the uninitiated.

This workshop is intentionally kept to a small group size to ensure every participant receives one-on-one guidance from the Tt Trims team. Tools and materials are provided for the practice pieces, though attendees are encouraged to bring photos of their own projects for a personalized consultation.
