Complete Details

Developing the next generation of clinical leaders is a core mission of the College. This multi-week Mentorship and Leadership Program is specifically designed for mid-career doctors and senior trainees who wish to transition from clinical proficiency to organizational leadership. The program utilizes a hybrid learning model, combining intensive in-person workshops at the Glasgow campus with ongoing virtual mentorship sessions.

Participants will explore the psychology of leadership, navigating the complexities of the modern healthcare system, and the art of effective mentorship. The curriculum includes "Crucial Conversations" modules, where attendees practice conflict resolution and negotiation within a clinical setting. A significant portion of the course is dedicated to "Sustainable Leadership," teaching doctors how to manage burnout—both for themselves and their teams—while maintaining high standards of patient safety.

The program also features guest speakers from the NHS executive board and private healthcare sectors, providing a 360-degree view of medical management. By the end of the term, each participant is paired with a senior Fellow of the College for a long-term mentorship arrangement. This event is vital for those looking to influence policy, manage departments, or drive systemic change within their respective trusts. It offers 18 CPD credits and a formal certificate of completion recognized by the General Medical Council.

Key Event Highlights

Long-term 1-on-1 mentorship with senior College Fellows. Focus on burnout prevention and physician well-being. Strategic modules on NHS management and healthcare economics. High-level networking with medical directors and executives. Certified leadership training worth 18 CPD credits.
