Complete Details

The Scots Philosophical Association (SPA) is proud to announce its upcoming Annual Conference, hosted in the historic academic setting of the University of Aberdeen. This flagship event serves as the primary gathering for philosophers across Scotland and the wider international community to engage with cutting-edge research across all traditions and branches of the discipline.

As the professional body for philosophers in Scotland, the SPA has a long-standing tradition of fostering rigorous intellectual exchange. The 2026 meeting continues this legacy by bringing together established faculty, emerging researchers, and postgraduate students. The program is designed to be inclusive and broad-based, featuring plenary sessions from world-renowned keynote speakers alongside submitted papers that cover a diverse range of topics including Metaphysics, Epistemology, Moral Philosophy, Political Philosophy, and the History of Philosophy.

Attendees can expect a high level of academic rigor combined with the collegiate atmosphere for which the Scottish philosophical community is known. Beyond the formal presentations, the conference provides ample opportunity for informal discussion, professional networking, and the development of collaborative research projects. The event will take place within the University of Aberdeen’s King’s College campus, providing a stimulating environment that bridges the gap between Scotland's rich philosophical heritage and contemporary global challenges.

Whether you are presenting a paper or attending to keep abreast of the latest developments in the field, the SPA 2026 conference offers an unparalleled platform for intellectual growth. We welcome all who are committed to the pursuit of philosophical clarity and depth to join us in Aberdeen for three days of intensive and rewarding dialogue.
