Air India outlines new aircraft deployment on UK routes

Major Cabin Upgrades for Mumbai and Bengaluru to London Heathrow

Air India has announced a significant enhancement to its UK flight operations. Starting July 1, the Mumbai-Heathrow route will transition to a fleet of new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners alongside retrofitted Boeing 787-8s. Both aircraft types feature entirely new cabin interiors designed to elevate the passenger experience.

These modernized aircraft will replace the Boeing 777-300ERs currently serving the route, ensuring that every Air India flight arriving at London Heathrow (LHR) features the airline’s latest cabin standards.

Furthermore, from August 1, the Bengaluru-Heathrow service will be operated by retrofitted Boeing 787-8 aircraft.

This update is particularly significant for travelers as it introduces Premium Economy seating on this specific route for the first time.
